GD4S will speak at the European Utility Week on the contribution of gas distribution networks to the energy transition

Paris, October 10th 2019 - GD4S will directly be present at the European Utility Week. Ian Kilgallon, Business Development and Innovation Manager for Gas Networks Ireland, will speak on behalf of GD4S. He will emphasize why renewable gas is part of the energy transition to a carbon-neutral society and the adaptation that gas distributors are undertaking to enable this transition.

The European Utility Week is a major annual exhibition and summit gathering utilities, energy providers, technology companies, energy traders, startups, and key professional associations. This year, the European Utility Week will take place in Paris, France, at the exhibition center “Paris Expo Porte de Versailles”.

Ian Kilgallon, from Gas Networks Ireland, a member of GD4S, will make a presentation on behalf of GD4S. He will describe how gas distribution networks can be leveraged to facilitate achievement of the EU’s decarbonisation agenda, and specifically how it can be utilised to deliver renewable gases. Case study examples will be presented to give context, during the presentation. Moreover, the audience will gain insight into DSOs’ role in strengthening the security of their grids via adoption of renewable gases.

Ian Kilgallon will speak in the session “Renewable Energy Integration” on November 13, at 2:40 pm, in Theatre 10. It will be an opportunity to connect with him and other representatives of GD4S companies and know more about the current momentum around renewable gas.

Ian Kilgallon is Business Development & Innovation Manager at Gas Networks Ireland. Ian’s team in Gas Networks Ireland is focused on progressing collaborative innovation projects with key stakeholder companies, research organisations, and developers. Current priority topics aim to assist Irish industry to decarbonise with renewable energy and supporting new rural developments, such as indigenous renewable gas and community cooperative projects.
