Brussels, 30th January 2020: Following a high level meeting with Ditte Juul Jørgensen, Director-General of Energy of the European Commission, the CEOs of six leading EU gas distributors, members of GD4S, this afternoon held their Annual General Assembly and appointed Paolo Gallo (Italgas) as President for 2020.
Paris, October 10th 2019 - GD4S will directly be present at the European Utility Week. Ian Kilgallon, Business Development and Innovation Manager for Gas Networks Ireland, will speak on behalf of GD4S. He will emphasize why renewable gas is part of the energy transition to a carbon-neutral society and the adaptation that gas distributors are undertaking to enable this transition.
Brussels, June 20th 2018 - The DSOs advocate for gas mobility as an important complement to electrical mobility. They call on EU policy-makers not to discriminate any alternative technology and have a consistent definition of “clean vehicle” among all the EU legislation. They pointed out a well-to-wheel approach should be implemented at European level instead of the tailpipe, since the latter is not taking into account the CO2 neutrality of renewable gas.
Paris, November 13th 2019. Ian Kilgallon, Business Development & Innovation Manager, Gas Networks Ireland (GNI) took to the stage on behalf of Gas Distributors for Sustainability (GD4S) at the 2019 Hub Session at the European Utility Week. His presentation, ‘Integrating Renewable Gases to Facilitate Decarbonisation’, was well received on the day and highlighted the role of the gas infrastructure and renewable gases as key to decarbonisation, with particular focus on Ireland.
