GD4S elects new leadership to steer gas networks as crucial enablers in Europe’s decarbonisation journey

Brussels, 9th October 2024 – GD4S (Gas Distributors for Sustainability), the association representing Europe’s leading gas distribution network operators, proudly announces the election of Laurence Poirier Dietz , CEO of GRDF, as its new President, and Jeroen Sanders , Chief Transition Officer at Enexis Groep, as Vice President.

Laurence Poirier-Dietz, who has been CEO of GRDF since June 2021, brings her extensive experience and GRDF’s strong commitment to the energy transition. Under her leadership, GRDF has become a key player in the development of biomethane in France, with more than 700 production sites already injecting this renewable gas into the national gas grid. This significant infrastructure positions GRDF at the forefront of decarbonising the energy system by integrating renewable energies while ensuring supply security and efficiency.

Jeroen Sanders, Chief Transition Officer at Enexis Groep, joins GD4S with extensive experience in energy infrastructure and the energy transition. Since 2020, he has been a member of the Enexis Groep Executive Board. In this role, he focuses on shaping and building the futureproof energy system together with stakeholders and is responsible for innovati on strategy, digitalization, and market facilitation. He has played a pivotal role in modernising infrastructure, integrating renewable energy, and facilitating market growth. As Vice President of GD4S, his aim is to promote renewable molecules, strengthen synergies between energy vectors, and ensure a resilient and affordable energy transition.
